PHILADELPHIA ANCHORS FOR GROWTH AND EQUITY

ABOUT PHILADELPHIA ANCHORS FOR GROWTH AND EQUITY

Philadelphia Anchors for Growth and Equity (PAGE) is a partnership between the Economy League, the City of Philadelphia and more than a dozen Philadelphia-area institutions that works to increase local purchasing by large institutional buyers to grow Philadelphia businesses, strengthen the local economy, create jobs, and build wealth.

Today, the 34 universities and hospitals located in Philadelphia together spend $5.3 billion on goods and services every year, but nearly half of these dollars are currently spent outside of Philadelphia. Analysis of the local business landscape suggests that at least $530 million of anchor dollars currently being spent outside of the region align with local market supply. Capturing just 25% of this half-billion dollar opportunity would translate into 1,250 new manufacturing jobs and 4,000 indirect jobs in Philadelphia.

If you are interested in participating in the initiative as a supplier, buyer, or support organization, please email us at page@economyleague.org and tell us about your organization and your interest in Philadelphia Anchors for Growth and Equity!

PAGE SUMMIT

Thank you for attending the 4th Annual PAGE Summit.

At the Economy League, community is everything. Our focus is always on serving the people of Philadelphia and creating a more equitable future. At the PAGE summit on February 21st, our community returned the favor. We packed the African American Museum, filling the auditorium until there was standing room only while enjoying a series of engaging panels and speeches. Bruce Katz started the night by giving us a glimpse into the future and offering a clear call to action. Our panelists tackled every angle of the small business growth puzzle with new ideas and hard-earned wisdom. Afterward, we broke bread or, more specifically, tarts provided by Desserts by Dana. Our PAGE Summit represented the best of our community, and we were thrilled to have you attend.

I want to give a special thank you to our sponsors, FS Investments, Draeger, INTECH Construction, Turner Construction, and Everybody Builds. I would also like to thank our speakers and panelists, Michael Forman, Bruce Katz, Harold Epps, Maria Roberts, Andreina Perez Hein, Craig Williams, Ian Lawrence, Allen Riddick, Jeff Raup, and Mark Mills.

Thank you for being the network that makes our impact possible! Without our community, without you, PAGE wouldn't be possible. To a brighter future,

Kenyatta
